Meet Rhys
Candid in nature, contemporary in style.
I’m telling the story of your Wedding Day, while you’re experiencing it.
I approach weddings in the same way I try to approach my life, staying present in the moment, not looking too far ahead.
That’s the feeling I encourage with my couples, allowing them to embrace the now-ness of each moment, without worrying about what’s expected of them or what comes next.
I am married and I appreciate the unique opportunities a wedding allows. Inviting all your favourite people, to enjoy all your favourite things; in one space, at the same time. It’s a considered, curated reflection of Your World. You shouldn’t miss the fun and the chaos you’ve created, and you don’t have too.
Truth is Timeless
I want you to enjoy your celebration, completely and unapologetically; knowing that I’m documenting personalities and moments colliding candidly, trusting that when the time is right and the light is nice, I’ll whisk you away for twenty minutes, so you can spend some time alone. (With me.)
The comfort and charisma that comes from my couples is a result of the friendships I build with them. They know I don’t care for posed pictures. I want to document the real you and play into your personality as much as possible.
What I love most about Photography, as with all art, is that it’s based purely on perspective.
What I see on a Wedding Day is a series of connections, subtle interactions, and big emotions. Memories to immortalise; fleeting moments to collect; a version of everyone you love that will live on forever.
The truth of who we are and what we feel is a story so timeless that it will last longer than we do. My job, as your Photographer, is to capture who you are and how you are, together.
I’m most reactive to all the in-betweens, the smallest signatures of your relationship. The ease of your chemistry, the way you laugh, how you hold hands, how you kiss. Do you kiss?
My focus is reporting the truth of how you really felt in each moment, rather than asking you to do or be anything that doesn’t come naturally. I want you to look back at your gallery and connect with what you see.
Remember: this is the story of you, for you.
